Even though most podcast listing apps and directories use iTunes API to automatically pull new podcasts, you need to make sure your podcast is listed in these 5 directories.
The first directory is Spotify
Spotify is the second most popular podcast listening platform with Apple Podcast being the first.
Also, when it comes to online audio brand awareness, Spotify is the first, even better than Apple Podcast.
Spotify is also available on Android, IOS, PC, and Mac.
Next is Google Podcast
Although Google Podcast accounts for less than 3% of podcast downloads, it has some major advantages that you should not overlook.
First, getting listed in Google Podcast will help you increase your reach to listeners using Android devices.
Getting listed in Google Podcast will also allow your podcast to be playable in Google search results, which is pretty convenient.
So you need to make sure your podcast is listed in Google Podcast, especially if your podcast episodes have searchable titles.

Next is Stitcher
By August 2022, Stitcher has over 40 million weekly users and over 100,000 available podcasts.
In addition to getting your podcast in front of more potential listeners, the app has built-in statistics, which it’ll show you some important information about your listeners, such as monthly active users, completion rate, and other important insight that will give you more knowledge about your listeners.
Next is Amazon Music
Amazon Music is a platform that is owned by Amazon.
Getting listed in Amazon Music will help you put your podcast in front of more listeners that enjoy long-form audio content.
Amazon Music has over 55 million listeners, and I believe some of those listeners are probably your target audience.
Next is Listen Notes
Listen Notes is not a podcast listening platform. It is a web-based podcast search engine.
You might think what is the point if people are not going to listen to my podcast? Well, Listen Notes is important for building brand awareness and discoverability.
For example, I use Listen Notes every day to find podcast guests and hosts for my client’s podcasts.
