Best FREE Tools to Create Podcast Intro (with FREE Template)

Create Podcast Intro

Roughly around 20 to 35% of podcast listeners drop off within the first five minutes of an episode. This shows that the first five minutes of your episode are crucial to your podcast audience retention, which is why you also need to start with the best intro possible.

In this post, I will share with you the tools that I use to create amazing podcast intros for my clients.

Watch on YouTube:

  • Audacity

The first tool that you need is audio editing software, and the one that I use and the one I recommend is Audacity.

Audacity is a free audio editing software that will allow you to record and edit audio files.

You can record your voice intro and remove background noise, adjust audio levels, add background music, and other cool features that you can use to create a podcast Intro.

  • YouTube Audio Library

Next, you are going to need royalty-free or copyright-free background music.

There are many places to get background music for your intro, but to avoid any copyright issues on your intro in the future, I recommend you use background music from YouTube Audio Library.

YouTube Audio Library, provide tons of background music, tons of music in general that you can download and use in your videos.

The reason I recommend using music from YouTube Audio Library is that will give you peace of mind, knowing you are not going to have any copyright claims on your videos in the future.

Although some music in YouTube audio library requires attribution, which means you need to give credit to the person who created the music, but most of them don’t require any attribution.

You can use them however you like, and that will give you peace of mind knowing you are not going to have any copyright claims on your intro.

  • Canva

Next, you are going to need a video editor if you plan to do a video podcast.

When it comes to video editing software, there are a lot of options. Some are free and some are paid.

If you have some experience in video editing, you can use something like Davinci Resolve or Adobe Premier Pro, or something similar to create your podcast intro. But if you have zero experience in video editing, I recommend you start with Canva.

Canva is an online graphic design platform that will allow you to create your podcast intro in the most easiest way.

If you watch just a few tutorials on YouTube, I am sure you’ll learn how to set up a podcast intro in Canva.

I recently created a nice podcast intro template in Canva. If you want to get this free template, Click Here and I will send it to you for FREE.

With just a few clicks, you can edit the template and have a nice intro for your podcast episodes.

Those are the tools that I recommend and the tools that I use to create podcast intros for my clients.
